October 2012 Reads

One of the busiest reading months so far this year, with 57 books read/re-read.  Several were re-reads of the Steven Erikson/Ian Cameron Esslemont Malazan Re-Read Project I've been doing (still have three commentaries/reviews to write, as well as finishing the re-read of The Crippled God).  Then there was the re-read/reading of all of the Spanish translations of Andrzej Sapkowski's works that I own (review of The Warriors of God/Los guerreros de Dios to come in the near future), as well as the World Fantasy Award novel finalists and several finalists in various categories of the National Book Awards.  So there's about a quarter of the read books in languages other than English, a mixture of literary and speculative fictions, and fewer books by women authors than I would like.  But enough of the breakdowns, here are the titles read in October 2012:

Needless to say, there are a lot of "review forthcomings" listed above.  Good thing I plan on writing 30 new reviews (as well as reposting some Faulkner reviews from earlier this year over at Gogol's Overcoat – where will also appear my National Book Award finalist reviews this month) this month, with hopefully 1 (if not 2 or even 3) appearing virtually every day of November.  You may feel spoiled/cursed now.

Which one(s) of these have you read/want to know more about?
